![]() | Madam Tussaud’s Waxworks, in London, is one of the most famous tourist attractions in the world. This incredible museum houses hundreds of life-sized (and amazingly life-like) models of famous people. If a famous person was standing perfectly still beside their wax model, you would have to look twice to know which was which!
The wax models include actors, singers, athletes and sporting people, politicians and royalty. There are also models of some of the most famous and awful criminals in history.
The museum was brought to London by Frenchwoman Madame Marie Tussaud about 200 years ago. Madame Tussaud learned the art of wax modelling from her uncle, who also left two French wax museums to her when he died.

At an incredible 135 metres, the London Eye is the highest observation wheel in the world. It’s like a giant Ferris wheel, except you’re safely seated inside a closed glass capsule. Rides, or ‘flights’, on the Eye run for 30 minutes.
Over 1,700 people in five countries helped build the London Eye. It stands on the banks of the River Thames in the middle of London.
